Caroline Kepnes'in dizi ile aynı adı taşıyan romanından uyarlanan dizi, Netflix'te yayınlanan ilk sezonundan sonra epey ilgi görmüş ve diğer sezonlar için de onay almıştır. Oldukça zeki bir adam olan Joe Goldberg, New York'ta bir kitapçı işletmektedir. Joe sıradan bir hayat sürdüren, yalnız bir kaç kişiyle muhabbet eden asosyal biridir. Bir gün kitapçıda monoton günlerden birindeyken Guinevere Beck kitap bakmak için dükkana girer. Joe, Beck'i gördüğü anda aşık olur ve ayakları yerden kesilir. Aşık olduğu kızı elde etmek için herşeyi yapabilecek olan Joe, teknoloji ve sosyal medya aracılığıyla Beck'i her yerde takip eder. Sonunda takıntılı takipçisi iken erkek arkadaşı olur. Joe'nun saplantılı hali artarak devam ederken, hayat Beck ve arkadaşları için bir daha aynı olmayacaktır.
